Philippians 1
Paul's purpose of this letter was to thank the Philippians for the gift they had sent him when they found out that he was in prison in Rome. He gave thanksgiving and prayer for them (v. 3-11) and he wanted them to know that his circumstances in prison further the spreading of the Gospel.

Verses to meditate on:
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on
to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.


29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him,
