Thoughts for today
In Exodus 31, God told Moses to appoint Bezalel, a man fill with with the Holy Spirit to build the tabernacle and its furnishings. This man had the skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts. In addition, he was to appoint Oholiab to assist him. With these men, they were able to find people of different skills to build the tabernacle. God has somone in mind to do his work so he would set them apart to do his work and find people to help him in the work. Bezalel and Oholiab did not build the tabernacle by themselves!
In Exodus 32, we have the story of the Golden Calf. It is so easy for the people of Israel to forget what God has done since Moses had gone for forty days! Notice how Aaron buckled under pressure and agreed, of all things, to make an idol from the gold the Israelites received from Egypt with the help of God. Let us beware that we do not forget and easily yield to the temptations of following our own lusts and desires and give in to our impatience. The children of Israel, like us will have to pay for the consequences of sin
In Exodus 33, the Lord spoke to Moses face to face as a "man speaks with a friend" In Moses v. 14 The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." God showed Moses his glory but He was careful to place Moses in the cleft of the rock so that he would live to see His glory. Similarly if we have faith in Jesus, we are hidden in the cleft of the Rock, Jesus, so we could also see His glory. Famous hymns refer to this passage, 'Rock of Ages' by Augustus M. Toplady and 'He Hideth My Soul' by Fanny Crosby. When Jesus came on earth, in the process of the Incarnation, people were able to see Him and not die.

James 2 with Commentaries, verse by verse
In James 2, James spoke about favoritism in the church. Favoritism can cause irreparable damage to relations between leaders and members, and among members themselves. We should treat everyone with fairness because God treats us fairly.
In verse 14-25, faith and works in the Christian life is discussed. Is this a controversy that you can know a Christian by their works. Absolutely not, Paul said in Ephesians 2-10, that we are not saved by good works but we are saved to do good works (paraphrase). Your good works to the world and to the Christians will show that there is an inward change inside.
