James 5 with Commentaries, verse by verse
In James 5, James warn against rich people putting their trust in their wealth and oppressing the workers (v.1-6). He also encourage Christians to be patient in suffering because Christ's coming is near. He warned them about swearing, to let their 'yes' be yes and 'no' be no. Finally, he spoke about the prayer of faith, (v.16) the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. He gave the example of Elijah who prayed that it would not rain on the land for three and a half years, and then he prayed that it would. As Christians, those of us who are rich should realize that our treasures are in heaven, we should not oppress our workers, and we should have the prayer of faith in our lives.
