Today's Reading Daniel 3-4; Revelation 6

King James Version with Web Encyclopedia links: <Daniel 3; <Daniel 4; Revelation 6

Daniel 3
Nebuchadnezzar built a statute of himself ninety feet high and ordered that at sound of certain musical instruments, the people were to fall down and worship the statute. Well, some astrologers squealed on Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, that they did not worship the statute. When confronted they refuse to worship the statute. The three men expressed their faith in God to saved them but if God chose not to save them they would not worship the statute. Nebuchadnezzar was furious and ordered them thrown in a furnace made at the maximum temperature. They were thrown in the furnace but
their clothes or bodies were not harmed. Nebuchadnezzar ended up praising God for how he delivered the three men. If you were one of the three men, what would you do? Would you bow down and worship the statute? Would you be willing to be a martyr? Think about it! This may happen one day in America!!!

Daniel 4
In verse 1-18, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of a tree, which was chopped down, its branch trimmed, the leaves stripped, and the fruit scattered. The stump and its root bound with iron and bronze would remain in the ground. Let the man become like an animal, till seven times pass by for him. In verses 19-27, Daniel interpret the dream, and said that the tree would be Nebuchadnezzar, and he would be driven away from people and live with wild animals and eat grass like cattle. He told him to renounce his sins and show compassion on the oppressed. In verse 28-36, it happened as Daniel said it would. Nebuchadnezzar regained his sanity and praised God and repented of his evil ways, and his kingdom was restored to him and he was greater than ever.

Revelation 6
In Revelation 6, the Lamb opened the seals. This was the first of three sevenfold numbered series of judgement (there was the seven trumpets in Revelation 8-9 and the seven bowls in Revelation 16). The first four seals were the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. The fifth seal was Martydom, the sixth seal was earthquake, moon turn black and the wrath of the Lamb. The seventh seal will be opened in Revelation 8. Some people believe that the Lord will come back at the end of the Tribulation and the next thing to happen on the prophetic time table is the revealing of the AntiChrist. What do you think?
