Revelation 13, Commentaries, verse by verse

Revelation 13 speaks of the beast from the Sea. The background for this information is from Daniel 7.2-7. John saw leopard, lion and bear which are a combined characteristics of Daniel’s four beasts. More information can be found from Guzik link

The beast out of the earth is the false prophet (Revelation 16.13; 19.20; 20.10) In verse 12 the triune of evil is complete, there is satan, the beast of the earth is under the authority of the beast of the sea (satan). According to the NIV Study Bible, Satan, secular power and religious compromise (satan, the antichrist and the false prophet join against cause of God: the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
